Population
The population in Syria is currently about 16.6 mil however there is a large declining amount due to the fleeing refugees and the conflicts. Another factor that is causing such a drastic population decline is terror from Islamic State. Because the headquarters of that terrorist group preside in Syria, the conflicts and war zone are especially concentrated. The civil war also had lasting effects on Syrian population through the many deaths as armed incidents in January 2015 rose to 4,000 to August 2015 of 6,000. As the hostility rises, the refugees are slowly being rejected from EU countries as they close their borders.
