Syria
In 1948 Israel proclaims its independence and is attacked by the surrounding Arab states, including Syria. This attack was the beginning of the conflict as Syria was shockingly defeated due to the disorganization of the Syrian military. In 1954, Shishakli is overthrown by a military coup due to the establishment of the dictatorship , and civilian government is restored. In 1976 Syria decides to intervene with the Lebanese War and with the military present, it allowed for Syria to have a large amount of influence over Lebanon. In 2004 the United Nations (UN) called for the removal of all non-Lebanon troops from Lebanon. In 2011 the real conflict begins in the reforms as some parts of Syria call for democracy and are becoming anti-government. More and more protest arise still to today which causes the beginning of the Syrian Civil War.
